September 1861... an Artillery unit formed out of Lone Rock, Wisconsin. They were answering a call of their country to fight in what we now call the Civil War. As a Wisconsin-based artillery unit we have chosen to represent the 6th Battery and honor the history of the unit.

Milton House 2017
Milton House May 19, 2017. The morning started out fine for weather, But the May showers continued and the event cancelled by lunchtime. We were able to get in a few groups of the 2000 plus students who were registered.
Is the public welcome to observe at Living History Battery Park June 10-11, 2017? What will we see? I would like to see the units bring 1860 history alive. Lone Rock WI looks like a small community. Are there any historical sites to see nearby? Where would one lodge? Bernice (bugberg@gmail.com)
hi Bernice, Yes, the event is free to the public. There is history in the area. Frank Lloyd Wrights home is in Spring Green. His uncle Jenkin Lloyd Jones was in the 6th Wis Battery. There are motels in the area. Madison is the closest City if you are looking for a larger area.
Thank you for a memorable forenoon rich with history. We did visit House on the Rock (fascinating as well) and the Frank Lloyd Wright visitor center. It was too late in the day to enjoy the tour and reservations are recommended because they were full. We did enjoy the Stage Stop gift shop and treated ourselves to one of their 18 flavors of delicious ice cream. We are now sweeter too. We hope to see you again in Rochester MN in July. ;) :)
I am descendant of Benjamin Franklin Runyan. I am coming from North Carolina and will be at the Heritage Days in Green Bay on the 24th. What time is the group conducting the reenactment? I would like to learn more about this lost ancestor. Thank you! Rabecca (RabeccaK@msn.com)
Hi Rebecca, the information of the original unit is at the Lone Rock Historical Society. We will portray the unit at Heritage Hills both Saturday and Sunday. See Link on right, Heritage Hills for more information on the event. Thanks for your interest.
