September 1861... an Artillery unit formed out of Lone Rock, Wisconsin. They were answering a call of their country to fight in what we now call the Civil War. As a Wisconsin-based artillery unit we have chosen to represent the 6th Battery and honor the history of the unit.

Original Cannon 1844 6 pound smooth bore
The Cannon that appears green is actually 173 years old. Yes, you are right 173 years old. It has not been polished, therefore it is able to form it's patina in a soft green. That is what Bronze does. This is a 6 pound smooth bore. A replica sits to the left of the original. Both cannons perform the same. There has been no change in the original version. The photo's were taken July 1,2017 and fired by the 6th Wisconsin Light Artillery, a modern day member of the 2nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Association.
